FLORIDA NATIVE PLANT GARDENING

Join us for a class on Florida native plants tailored for gardeners of all levels. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your gardening expertise, this workshop will equip you with the essential knowledge and techniques to create a thriving garden filled with beautiful and beneficial native plants suited to Florida’s unique ecosystem.

LEU GARDENS DISCOVERY CAMP – RAINFOREST WEEK

June 1st – 5th, 2026

Join us for a fun & educational nature camp at Harry P. Leu Gardens! Campers will explore the gardens daily, participate in educational activities, and get creative with unique art classes. We are working with community partners such as Super Awesome Cool Pottery to deliver fun hands-on activities as well as local educational programs to deliver unique experiences such as yoga and animal encounters . Leu Gardens Discovery Camp features at least five take-home art projects including three clay pieces from our friends at Super Awesome Cool Pottery and at least two other art projects based on the weekly theme! There will also be workshops and activities that explore the science of rainforests as students learn about adaptations and biodiversity.

FAIRY DOORS

June 8th 2026

Step into a world of enchantment with Fairy Doors, a delightful exhibit featuring twenty one-of-a-kind, magical doors tucked away throughout the gardens.

Each fairy door is crafted by a different fairy and invites young dreamers (and the young at heart) into a realm of secret gardens, whispering woods, and sparkling imagination.

A special map will guide your journey, complete with charming tales of the fairies who created each door, adding a touch of storybook magic to your adventure. Gather your family and friends and see if you can find them all…but remember, these doors open only for fairies.

Included with daytime admission, this enchanting experience promises wonder, laughter, and a sprinkle of fairy dust for visitors of all ages.

LEU GARDENS DISCOVERY CAMP – POLLINATORS WEEK

June 15th – 19th, 2026

Join us for a fun & educational nature camp at Harry P. Leu Gardens! Campers will explore the gardens daily, participate in educational activities, and get creative with unique art classes. We are working with community partners such as Super Awesome Cool Pottery to deliver fun hands-on activities as well as local educational programs to deliver unique experiences such as yoga and animal encounters . Leu Gardens Discovery Camp features at least five take-home art projects such as: a pot made on a pottery wheel, canvas painting, painted pottery ornament, clay sculpture, and more! There will also be workshops and activities that explore the science of pollinators, helping students learn about native plants and ecosystems.

There are different themes every week, each with curated daily lesson plans – so your camper will have a unique experience every day!

HONEY TASTING AND MADELINE CAKES

June 20th, 2026

Sample about 20 different types of honey and compare the different tastes and qualities.

From Cranberry Honey made in Wisconsin to Sugar Gum Honey from Kangaroo Island, Australia we will travel the world by palate to discover your favorite honey flavors. Local favorites will also “bee”on the menu.

Honey Madeline Tea Cakes will be served as the perfect accompaniment for tasting.

Learn about the history of honey hunting, beekeeping & using different types of honey.

Didgeridoo Adventure Down Under : Legendary Adventure Down Under

Come hear mythical Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and colorful Aussie tales, that take you to explore amazing Australia from the Great Barrier Reef to the Outback. 

The didgeridoo has been played by Aboriginal Australians for at least 1,500 years, and it’s known for its otherworldly sound. Come hear mythical Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and colorful Aussie tales, that take you to explore amazing Australia from the Great Barrier Reef to the Outback. This show is interactive and educational fun for all ages! 

Eco Wonders (ages 7-11): Protecting Our Watersheds

June 24th, 2026

Kids ages 7-11 can learn how to protect our watersheds and stop stormwater pollution in our community with a hands-on experience building a water filtration device. Join UF/IFAS Extension Florida Sea Grant and Pasco County at the Land O’ Lakes Library for an educational program focused on understanding stormwater pollution in our watersheds. Youth will learn about stormwater pollution sources, environmental impacts. They will also get to experience a hands-on water filtration activity. Parents are welcome to join and learn.

The program will also introduce an upcoming hands-on community volunteer opportunity, supported by the Tampa Bay Estuary Program Bay Mini Grant and the Tarpon Tag, where attendees can take part in the restoration of a local retention pond system to restore habitat and actively reduce nutrient loading.

Step into an enchanting world of fairies and wonder. Discover hidden Fairy Doors, take part in magical activities, and meet real fairies along the way. Let your imagination soar as you create whimsical art at fairy landings, plant a fairy garden, and don’t forget to dress in your most magical, fairy-inspired attire to fully embrace the experience.

AROMATHERAPY BLENDING WORKSHOP: LESS STRESS, BETTER MOOD & MINDSET

June 27th, 2026

Join us for this fun, interactive class where you’ll be immersed in the scents of pure essential oils that help you reduce stress, enhance mood and get a better night’s sleep. You’ll learn how holistic aromatherapy works and the physical, mental and emotional benefits you’ll get. Be guided through scent-smelling exercises to find your favorite signature scent and how it will strengthen your mindset and motivation. Also get some personal development goal setting tips to help you focus on creating a life-work balance. Bring a friend and walk the beautiful garden after class.

June 29th – July 3rd, 2026

Join us for a fun & educational nature camp at Harry P. Leu Gardens! Campers will explore the gardens daily, participate in educational activities, and get creative with unique art classes. We are working with community partners such as Super Awesome Cool Pottery to deliver fun hands-on activities as well as local educational programs to deliver unique experiences such as yoga and animal encounters . Leu Gardens Discovery Camp features at least five take-home art projects such as: a pot made on a pottery wheel, canvas painting, painted pottery ornament, clay sculpture, and more! There will also be workshops and activities that explore astronomy and Earth sciences.
